As you walk along the winding alleys of Tongyeong, you will come across a building with a sign that looks old.

You can sit freely at the tachi stone table inside the food stall where you can just stop by and go, and at the standing and sitting tables inside, depending on how long you want to stay in the space.

If you sit at the standing table inside and order and wait for your food to be prepared, you can look around the interior of the store. The walls are decorated with colorful promotional materials that were used on TV, and there is also a poem written by a customer about Hangnam Ujja.

Ujja is a food sold only in Tongyeong. Outsiders may have mixed feelings about the taste of muljjajang, but for locals, it is the perfect hangover cure and is open until dawn, making it a popular hangover cure restaurant for locals.

The owner, who has been selling Ujja for about 40 years, 9 years in the food stall across the street and 30 years in the current building, was preparing ingredients for simple-looking but hearty food. He was preparing a mountain of fresh ingredients at a low table inside. The sound of the knife being cut in quick intervals, like white noise, could be heard gently.

He has a philosophy about ingredients, so he uses broth made with tteokbokki instead of the usual anchovy broth, and he insists on using fresh noodles made only in Tongyeong. The owner's sincerity adds to the depth of flavor.
